What’s your approach on the actual wedding day?
My approach is much different than most wedding photographers. I know that there are many, many good wedding photographers in this area, picture wise. What separates me from the rest is that I am all about the experience of your wedding photography. When possible, I want to meet you in person to learn all about the style and plans for your wedding, and to learn about what you want and don’t want for . I want to take your engagement pictures. Even if you already had a friend or someone else do some, I’d love the chance to get to photograph you at least once before the actual wedding day. I need to learn your personalities, your likes and dislikes, your style, and how you photograph. That way, once the wedding day gets here, I’m not just a stranger with a camera that you’re timid around. By that time, I’m a friend, and my camera is secondary. Getting to know you as a couple before the wedding will make you both more relaxed when my camera is around, and that means better and more real pictures on the wedding day!

Do you personally photograph the weddings you book?
Yes. I personally photograph every wedding I book. I do not subcontract other photographers to replace me at weddings. This is crucial to the quality of my photography and the exception customer experience I can provide.

How far in advance do you book?
Normally 12-18 months in advance, but it never hurts to ask!

Do you offer video?
I am not a videographer. Video and photo is as different as cake and flowers. Even if you hire a company that offers both photo and video, you aren’t saving any money by going with one company, as you are still hiring two different individuals. And if they have a price for both that’s “a good deal,” then you’re just paying two people less than their competition which means you’re getting two newbies or lesser quality of each.

Do you have second photographers available?
Definitely. Lets chat about it!

Do I really need a second photographer?
Possibly, but maybe not. Most people that hire second photographers end up not really needing them. I can cover a lot of ground by myself. Let’s chat about it more though and see if a second photographer is right for your wedding!

What’s your wedding photography style?
Modern, fashionable, fun and artistic are a few words I use to describe my photographic style. But as they say, pictures speak louder than words, so just browse through the photo galleries here on my website in order to see my style first hand.

What is an engagement session?
Soon after you book with me, let’s set a date to make your engagement pictures! These are very laid-back and FUN! We’ll meet at a location of your choice and you’ll be dressed casually or all dressed up (or both!) your choice! These photos are often used in Save-The-Date cards, made into prints to hang on your walls, and put into on of our coffee table books to remember your engaged time forever! Even if you’ve already had someone take some engagement pictures for you, it’s very very important to have your actual wedding photographer make these pictures for you, too. That way I get to know how you photograph. Learn more about your personal style, and most importantly, I’m not just a stranger on your wedding day. That’s the #1 key for me to capture those real, raw, and emotional moments on your wedding day that you want so much!

What is a bridal session?
The bridal portrait session is basically a dress rehearsal of the wedding day. These are usually made on a separate date prior to the wedding date. For the bride, you’ll be in your wedding dress, veil if you have one, and a bouquet if you want one. We’ll go to an exciting location of your choice and make some cool pictures! These are fun to make into a little book to remember your time as a bride! For the Groom, feel free to join! Some couples prefer to have these made on a date after the wedding, so that the Groom can easily be in them, and you’re not interfering with the hustle and bustle of wedding planning. I am a pro at these and loves making beautiful and artistic bridal portraits!

Do you offer wedding albums?
Yes! From the cutest little coffee table book, to the most luxurious high-end wedding album, I have lots of options for you. It’s a lot of information and choices, and best discussed after the wedding date has passed. I’ll get with you after the wedding chaos settles down and discuss options with you.

How long have a you been in business?

2022 will be my 25th year of being a wedding photographer! During that time, I have photographed over 1,500 weddings and well over 3,000 bridal and engagement portrait sessions! That’s crazy to think about, but I’ve loved every one of them and still look forward to every wedding and photo session I’m blessed to photograph!

What’s the turnaround time for your images?
I will email you a link to your edited photos within 4 to 6 weeks (minimum) from your wedding date. These times can be faster during the “off-season” months of December through March, and a tad later during peak times (April through November). For portrait sessions, please allow at least one week for delivery of your proofs. A rush fee is always available, if needed.

We found someone cheaper. What’s up with that?
Photographers charge what they’re worth. There will ALWAYS be cheaper photographers than me. Why? Because they have less experience, and they deliver lower quality photographs. It’s just that simple. Not trying to sound braggy; I’m just being honest with you. Remember that just like everything else, with wedding photography, you definitely get what you pay for. Don’t narrow down your choice of wedding photographers based on price alone. That is simply the wrong way to find a wedding photographer. Instead, find the photographer whose personality and photographic style clicks with you the most, and then figure out pricing from within that photographer that works for your budget. That’s the correct way to book a wedding photographer!

Can we show you pictures we found on Pinterest?
Of course! But know that I’ve spent 26 years developing my style. Couples that hire me do so because they want MY style and MY “eye.” It is illegal for me to to plagiarize other photographer’s work. Anyone can do that. But please tryst me to do what I do best, which is my own unique style,

Do you bring backup equipment?
Oh yes! NEVER hire a wedding photographer who doesn’t bring at least two cameras and multiple flashes to everything they photograph. If they only have one camera and it fails, they’re screwed, and you won’t get pictures. This is why hiring young part-timers or using “a family member with a good camera” is a horrible idea! We us several professional grade Nikon camera bodies, along with top-of-the-liner Nikon lenses. We are very efficient in natural light through the getting ready and ceremony, and we are great at remote flash equipment too, to give your portraits and reception party pictures the “pop” they deserve!

Do you edit the images?
Yes! I personally go through every image taken, by hand, deleting any that don't make the cut, and then for everything else that gets delivered, I individually adjust each image for the best color and lighting. If you’d like certain photos retouched a certain way, I can outsource that to a retouching company for a small fee per image.

Do we get printing rights to our images?
Yes, always! You have full printing rights to your wedding images, and they will be “print-ready” once you receive them all. You can get your own prints made anywhere local to you, or online. But whatever you do, let’s not go to all the trouble of having your final wedding images be printed at a grocery store. I can direct you to get quality printing places here in Northwest Arkansas, or online if you live outside this area.

So we get the copyright for our wedding pictures?
You have rights to make your own prints for personal use. You are welcome to post those anywhere online, make your own prints and albums from them etc. If you’d like a commercial license or a complete copyright buyout of your wedding pictures, please contact me for a quote.

Can we purchase prints through you?
Yes! Your online wedding gallery has a shopping cart system, in case you’d like to purchase actual printed photographs through there. Your family and friends can do that also from wherever they live. These are the highest quality photographs available. Printing options include paper, canvas, metal and more!
